Dagestani Prosecutor promises to check social networks in connection with Leninaul events
At a meeting in the Kazbek District, Dagestani Prosecutor Ramazan Shakhnavazov has promised to check social networks for posts inciting ethnic hatred because of the conflict in Leninaul.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7, law enforcers restricted entry to the village of Leninaul of the Kazbek District because of the information about people's gathering of the Chechen community.
According to Gamzat, one of the participants of the meeting, Dagestani Prosecutor Ramazan Shakhnavazov was requested to instruct the relevant authorities to start monitoring social networks and close profiles and channels inciting ethnic hatred.
Malik, the head of the Leninaul administration, has said that Ramazan Shakhnavazov had promised to prevent incidents of that kind.
The conflict in Leninaul has become a topic for active discussion in social networks, including mutual criticism from users calling themselves Chechens and Avars.
However, many social networks users have also called on the parties to the conflict to refrain from interethnic discord.
"I'm an Avar... No land or district is worth the life of any guy from both sides, it does not matter from which side. The question should be solved according to the Sharia law," wrote the user under nickname ahmad__4147.
