Film by Indian director wins "Golden Apricot" in Yerevan
On July 15, in Yerevan, the "Moscow" cinema hosted the ceremony for awarding the winners of the 14th International "Golden Apricot" film festival. The festival was closed with the documentary film "Intent to Destroy" by US director Joe Berlinger, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
In the nomination "International feature film", the award of the "Golden Apricot" went to the film "Sexy Durga" by Indian director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan.
It should be noted that earlier, the film has been awarded the Grand Prix of the Rotterdam film festival.
"A husband and a wife are hitchhiking to get to a station. Hoodlums who pick them up on the road are intrusive and seem to be dangerous. The whole film was shot in a night, without a film script, by pure improvisation. So, in essence, nothing is known about the heroes of the film. However, tension and fear travel together with the heroes of the film," reports the "Kommersant" about the film.
Let us remind you that the Grand Prix of the 13th International "Golden Apricot" film festival, which was held in Yerevan on July 10-July 17, 2016, went to the film "Opposite the Left Bank" by Russian director Evgeny Grigoriev dedicated to the city of Rostov-on-Don.
