Social network users urge authorities to solve Leninaul problem
Local leaders in the village of Leninaul and social network provocateurs had contributed to the escalation of the village conflict, Dagestani journalists have stated. The authorities should settle the land disputes, rather than trying to settle Chechens-Avars conflicts, social network users believe.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7, power agents restricted entry to Leninaul, Kazbek District of Dagestan. A skirmish broke out near the police post; and policemen were attacked with stones. The heads of Chechnya and Dagestan, Ramzan Kadyrov and Ramazan Abdulatipov, had to interfere and managed to prevent further development of the conflict.
On July 10, Saigidpasha Umakhanov, the Dagestani Minister for Energy, said that "outside forces had come into the conflict in an attempt to destabilize the situation in Dagestan."
"The conflict was launched by the Kremlin, which had forcibly evicted Chechens and violently settled others into their other homes," the user Leo Fischer wrote under Umakhanov's video appeal on the DagTema channel in the YouTube.
In his turn, Gadjimurad Sagitov, the editor-in-chief of the “Novoe Delo”, believes that the conflict in Leninaul was not launched purposefully.
Journalists have disputed on Umakhanov's role in the Leninaul conflict. According to Magomed Magomedov and Gadjimurad Sagitov, Umakhanov has a serious influence in Dagestan; and he played a deterrent role for the Avars of Leninaul. The Umakhanov’s role in the conflict "was zero," their colleague Milrad Fatullaev is convinced. He has positively assessed the influence of the Chechnya’s delegation.
