Chechen pilgrims to start for Hajj on August 18
On August 18, the first group of pilgrims from Chechnya, who this year makes a pilgrimage to Mecca, will travel to Saudi Arabia. In 2017, the republic has been allocated a quota for 2600 pilgrims.
"All of them will be delivered to Saudi Arabia by direct flights from Grozny. Each group will consist of 218 people accompanied by a Muftiate's official and a medical officer," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) for Chechnya.
The transportation of all Chechen pilgrims to Saudi Arabia is expected to be completed within a week. In Chechnya, the travels to Saudi Arabia are organized by the tour operator "Al-Amana".
Chechen believers note that they have to save money for a trip for years.
"We should take into account that in addition to the trip costs, we need to leave money for family members for the time of our absence, as Islam prescribes. Taking into account that fact, the costs for a trip for the Hajj amount to not less than 5000-6000 US dollars," said Ramzan, a resident of Chechnya.
"According to Islam, a person can go for the Hajj only at own expenses earned by honest way. No one may borrow money for a trip," added Isa, another pilgrim.
According to him, his sons helped him to raise the amount necessary for a trip for the Hajj.
