On September 4, such a rally was held in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya. According to the estimates of the Mayoralty of Grozny, the rally was at least one million people strong; however, residents told about compulsion to participate in the rally.
The situation in Myanmar got deteriorated in late August, when clashes broke out of Buddhists and Muslims. As a result, over 400 people perished.
"Myanmar sees a frank genocide of Rohingya people," said Islam Khubiev, Deputy Minister for Nationalities, Mass Communications and Press of the KChR.
Rasul Botashev, a Russian State Duma MP, has called to draw attention to this issue of the UN and other international human rights organizations. The head of the republic, Rashid Temrezov, also condemned the events in Myanmar.
The rally participants made a collective prayer and adopted a resolution urging the Russian leadership to take measures to protect Rohingya people.
