Tbilisi hunger-striker needs doctors’ help
A woman-hunger-striker, a supporter of the "Georgian Patriots’ Alliance", who is protesting for the fourth day at the Georgian parliament, has complained of poor health. Irma Tsoragauli, a hunger-striker, has stated that should the protesters’ demands be not met, on October 1, 17 more hunger-strikers would join the 17 current activists.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 17, 17 activists of the parliamentary opposition "Georgian Patriots’ Alliance" Party went on a hunger strike, demanding a constitutional reform, direct dialogue with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and solution of social problems.
Irma Tsoragauli, member of the Alliance, told the "Caucasian Knot" that they would continue their hunger strike until their demands are fulfilled.
She said that today, 17 persons continue hunger-striking; and should the Georgian authorities ignore their demands, on October 1, the number would double.
Marina Tzkhvaradze, another hunger-striker, has complained about her poor health. "There was an ambulance; I have a very low blood tension. They gave me some medicine; and I felt a little better," she said, noting that the ambulance team is not on duty at the venue, but arrives every five or six hours to monitor the hunger-strikers health condition.
