Mufti concerned about Muslim rights violations
Shafig-hajji Pshikhachev, deputy chairman of the Coordination Centre of the Muslims of the North Caucasus and chief executive of an International Islamic Mission, is going next week to address Kabardino-Balkaria's law enforcement agencies with a number of questions concerning infringements on Muslims' rights in the republic, in particular the recent detention of nine female students, Shafig-hajji told Caucasian Knot.
"Along with what happened then, I have a number of questions concerning a ban on Muslims' performing the five daily prayers in Kabardino-Balkaria's mosques. Most mosques in the republic are only opened once a week, on Friday, to perform the afternoon prayer," said Pshikhachev.
