Georgia CEC received 204 complaints on the voting day

The cities of Marneuli and Kutaisi, and the Tbilisi Districts of Vake and Nadzaladevi became record holders in the number of complaints about violations at voting. Overall, the elections passed with the voter turnout of 45.64%, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has reported.

Today, 64 cities and districts of Georgia have held elections of municipality heads and deputies of Sakrebulos (local self-governments). In total, 22 parties and five electoral blocs are running for the seats there. Activists of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party have stated violations during voting throughout the country and "carousels" in Tbilisi. The ruling "Georgian Dream" Party has treated complaints of oppositional observers as an attempt to influence the electorate.

As reported by Anna Mikeladze, the CEC's Speaker, the Constituency Election Commissions received 204 complaints. Most of them were submitted in Marneuli, Kutaisi and Tbilisi Districts of Vake and Nadzaladevi, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"Complaints have been lodged by local monitoring organizations and electoral subjects; mostly, they concern procedural deficiencies; and some of them were corrected right on the spot," Ms Mikeladze has stated.
