About 90 miners hold protest action in Gukovo
At a picket in Gukovo, miners have claimed no improvement with payment of wage arrears and said they would continue to hold protests every day.
Since the spring of 2016, "Kingcoal" miners have been regularly protesting in Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, demanding repayment of their salary debts and issuance of ration coal.
On October 23, about 90 miners from the "Kingcoal" Company and the "Vostochnaya" mine gathered for a picket near the office of the "Kingcoal" Company in Gukovo, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to Tatiana Avachyova, a member of the initiative group of miners, on October 25, miners from the "Kingcoal" Company will file to the Gukovo administration a notification about the extension of their protest action, which term expires on November 7, since there are no noticeable improvements with the payment of wage arrears.
However, the miners fear that for various reasons, the Gukovo administration can refuse to sanction pickets, Tatiana Avachyova believes.
"Before the elections, they wanted us not to attract attention. In case if we are not allowed to hold pickets, we will hold rallies and rallies with the help of the newly created organization 'People's Unity'," Tatiana Avachyova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 16, in Gukovo, the miners on protest announced the creation of the interregional public movement "People's Unity". With its help, the miners intend to succeed in seeking the payment of wage arrears. According to Tatiana Avachyova, almost 500 activists have joined the movement, and other people continue to join it.
