"Akhmat" head coach resigns

After a match between the football teams of the "Akhmat" FC and the Makhachkala "Anji" FC which ended in a draw, Oleg Kononov, the head coach of the Grozny FC, has requested to release him from his position. This was reported by Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 22, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced the appointment of Oleg Kononov the head coach of the Grozny FC.

"The specialist has come to such a decision in connection with the recent results and the need to change something in the situation. I have accepted the resignation. <...> Mikhail Galaktionov, the senior coach of the team, will act as the head coach," Magomed Daudov wrote in his Instagram.

In total, being headed by Oleg Kononov, the "Akhmat" FC held 15 matches in the championship of Russia, in which the football players won five times and suffered seven defeats, while three more matches ended in a draw, the TASS reports.

Let us remind you that yesterday, on the eve of the match, law enforcers blocked the roads near the stadium in Grozny, and students reported they would come to the match because of fear of being not admitted to the session.
