MP Rafik Yaraliev detained after shootout in Dagestan

Rafik Yaraliev, a member of the Derbent City Assembly, has been detained and gives evidence in the case of the shootout in Dagestan, a regional law enforcement source has reported. The shootout involved relatives of Imam Yaraliev, the former Mayor of Derbent, and Farid Akhmedov, the head of the Magaramkent District, law enforcers have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the shootout which occurred in Dagestan on November 23, two persons were killed, as stated by an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan. One of the killed persons was identified as Eldar Yaraliev, a member of the local district assembly.

According to the source, in the evening on November 23, Rafik Yaraliev, a member of the Derbent City Assembly, who had been put on the wanted list after the shootout in Dagestan, was detained. "Rafik Yaraliev, who was on the wanted list, has been captured. At present, he gives testimony," a law enforcement source has reported as quoted by the TASS.

The conflict involved relatives of Imam Yaraliev, the former Mayor of the Derbent city, and Farid Akhmedov, the head of the Magaramkent District, another source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan has added. According to his version, "the conflict broke out because of debts."
