Police targeted in Dagestan
A radio-controlled explosive device was triggered at 1.05 am near a Makhachkala bus station on the outskirts of Dagestan's capital the moment a car with police officers was going by. Three police officered received wounds as a result, the press service of the Internal Affairs Ministry of Dagestan says.
The prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case under two articles of the Russian Criminal Code: 317 "Attempt on the life of a law enforcement agent" and 222 "Illegal storage and carriage of weapons, munitions and explosives."
Quoted by RIA Novosti, the Internal Affairs Ministry also said an unidentified man had remotely triggered an explosive device, presumably a grenade, five meters away from an affiliate of the Academy of Sciences not far from Kaspiisk at 5.00 am MSK last Monday. No one suffered.
