Parliament violates freedom of press

Prime Minister Recep Erdogan of Turkey delivered a speech in the parliament of Azerbaijan yesterday. The parliament's press service had invited journalists for 2.30 pm, but they were admitted to the hall only at 3.30 pm. Besides, those journalists who had photo cameras were prohibited from taking them into the hall.

When the journalists entered the session hall, the security service asked them to go out and up to the balcony. At the same time, television journalists and correspondents of governmental media were allowed to enter the hall. Such discriminatory practice has been used in the parliament for several years already.
