Tskhinvali residents complain about deficit of candles in stores

Residents of the South-Ossetian capital reported interruptions with heating and water supply in their houses because of the electricity supply disconnection. To illuminate their apartments, the residents of Tskhinvali have to use church candles, since it is very difficult to find ordinary wax candles in stores.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 23, the power supply in South Ossetia was disconnected because of a breakdown.

The Tskhinvali maternity home has no diesel generator which doctors need for their activities, reported an official from the maternity home.

The residents of Tskhinvali questioned by the "Caucasian Knot" have said that houses also experience interruptions in heating and water supply. The university, schools and kindergartens have stopped classes until the restoration of power supply.

The local residents complain they cannot even find out when the breakdown is eliminated, since mobile phones of many people are discharged.

According to Mikhail, a resident of Tskhinvali, it is difficult to find ordinary wax candles in stores.

Besides, some residents of Tskhinvali cannot return home, since the traffic on the Transkam (Transcaucasian Highway) is restricted after the descent of snow avalanches.
