Chechen law enforcer suspected of killing a child

On New Year night, an employee of one of the federal agencies was shooting in the air with his colleagues and mortally wounded a minor girl in Chechnya, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

According to the MIA, the deceased girl was in an apartment of a multi-storey building. The bullet got into the window and mortally wounded her.

"The girl was in one of the apartment rooms, when a random bullet hit the window and caused a mortal wound. An employee of one of Chechen federal agencies was detained on suspicion of committing this crime. It was established that he, together with his colleagues, made shots in the air from his service weapon as a salute on the occasion of the New Year. The detainee has refused to plead guilty," a source from the MIA told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.
