Gukovo miners complain about shortage of coal for heating houses

Today, 70 miners have held a picket in Gukovo, demanding from the authorities to allocate coal to them and reduce utility tariffs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the previous protest action took place in Gukovo on January 16. The former employees of the "Kingcoal" Company were promised 100 tons of ration coal; however, so far, many miners have to collect firewood to heat their houses, the picketers said.

According to organizers, the today's picket was attended by 70 people – 55 former "Kingcoal" employees and 15 workers of the "Vostochnaya" mine.

In the course of the picket, Tatiana Avachova, a member of the miners' initiative group, has informed the picketers about the situation with coal allocation. According to her story, the trade union has promised that "100 tons of humanitarian coal will be allocated already next week."

Also, the initiative group decided to send an appeal to the governor of the Rostov Region with a demand to reduce utility tariffs in the dwelling settlements where Rostov miners live.
