Azeri and Georgian Judokas win four gold medals at European Championships

Athletes from Azerbaijan and Georgia have won four gold medals at the Open European Judo Championships held in Austria.

The tournament was held on February 17-18 in the Austrian city of Oberwart with the participation of 323 Judokas from 43 countries.

Mekhman Sadygov from Azerbaijan took gold in the weight category of 60 kg by defeating a Dagestani Gamzat Zairbekov, the "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" reports.

Orkhan Safarov, his fellow countryman, has also won gold in the 66 kg weight category by defeating the Frenchman Kevin Azem in the final match.

Onise Saneblidze, a Judoka from Georgia (weight category of 100 kg) took his gold by defeating the German Daniel Herbst.

Two more medals were won by Georgian Judokas in the weight category of over 100 kg, when in the final battle Onise Bugadze defeated Giorgi Kavtaradze and became a gold medallist.
