Authorities report on Putin's control over inquiry into Makitov's murder (+video)
The participants of the today's rally have elected an initiative group, whose members are entrusted to supervise the course of investigation into the murder of Khusey Makitov, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
Khusey Makitov, 29, was shot dead in Elbrus on April 6. Two law enforcers were detained on suspicion of committing the murder. According to locals, Makitov had refused to give them a lift to Terskol, which triggered a conflict of them. On April 9, a law enforcement source reported that the suspects had been arrested.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today in Nalchik, a spontaneous rally took place in connection with the resonant murder of Khusey Makitov. The rally decided to ask the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) to take control over the inquiry.
Five members of the initiative group, who were elected by the non-sanctioned rally, were instructed to apply to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the GPO, and to cover the inquiry progress in social networks. After the rally, the group had a meeting with Mukhamed Kodzokov, the head of the KBR leader's office, and Kazbek Tatuev, Secretary of the Security Council of the KBR.
"We were informed that the investigation in under control by the Administration of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, his plenipotentiary's office in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), and by the KBR's leader. The inquiry is in progress; the arrested suspects are kept in Rostov-on-Don. I told all that to the rally," Ismail Sabanchiev, the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Balkar nation, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
