Nikol Pashinyan initiates resignation of heads of law enforcement bodies
Nikol Pashinyan, new Prime Minister of Armenia, has offered the President to dismiss the chiefs of the country's police and the National Security Service. Meanwhile, The Prime Minister did not specify the reasons for such a decision.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nikol Pashinyan became the Prime Minister of Armenia on May 8. After his election, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) declared itself to be an opposition and assured that RPA's members would not work in the government to be formed by Nikol Pashinyan. On the same day, after meeting with the new chair of the government, Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan resigned.
Today, Nikol Pashinyan has reported on Facebook that he has signed a proposal addressed to the President to dismiss Vladimir Gasparyan, the chief of the Police of Armenia, and Giorgi Kutoyan the head of the National Security Service.
