Political analysts: Pashinyan's Govt has enough cadres

Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, has announced the appointment of David Tonoyan, the former head of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), to the post of the Defence Minister. Political analysts believe that other civil society figures and some former officials may join the new government.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 8, Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the parliamentary "Elk" bloc, was elected Prime Minister of Armenia. After his election, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) declared itself an opposition and assured that no party members would join Pashinyan's government.

Let us remind you that on May 8, Vigen Sargsyan, the Defence Minister, resigned, and on May 10, Pashinyan offered Armen Sargsyan, the President, to dismiss the heads of power ministries.

Nikol Pashinyan will not feel any personnel deficit, Ruben Megrabyan, a political analyst and an expert of the Centre for Political and International Studies, is sure. According to his version, in recent years Armenia pursued such a cadre policy that any candidate appointed by Pashinyan will be better than his predecessor.

Akop Badalyan, a political observer, believes that it is still difficult to predict what Pashinyan's team will look like.

He recalled Pashinyan's words that the government of national accord will be formed, in which preference will be given not to the teamwork, but to professionalism.

Earlier, political analysts told the "Caucasian Knot" that the RPA would try to keep its positions in power, but Pashinyan's public support and their intra-party disagreements hinder these plans.
