Special fighters mobilized to protest actions in central Tbilisi

Tbilisi protesters have asked to withdraw special fighters from the territory of the protest action, stating that it is a peaceful demonstration. At the request of the protesters, the police blocked one roadway lane, so that they could occupy it.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the capital of Georgia has launched the action "For our freedom", the participants of which have demanded from Giorgi Gakhariya, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia, to resign, and to punish those who used force at the rally against raids over nightclubs.

Activists protested against police raids over nightclubs and expressed their dissatisfaction with actions of law enforcers. Several people were detained during the action; and policemen used force against demonstrators, one of the detainees said.

The action is peaceful; and its participants have no intention to fight with anyone and resort to provocations, Baya Pataraya, the head of one of NGOs named "Sapari", has stated. Its participants raised their hands as a sign of the peaceful nature of their action.

Ms Pataraya has also announced that the protest action will be held permanently.

Beka Tsikarishvili, the leader of the "White Noise" Movement, has added that the actions are also held in other cities of Georgia, namely, in Batumi, Zugdidi and Kutaisi.
