Sochi hopes to welcome million guests of FIFA World Cup

In Sochi, 2000 hotels are ready to accommodate guests to watch matches of the FIFA World Cup, the City Mayoralty reports. However, no rush is observed and there are a lot of free rooms available in many hotels of the city.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia in the period from June 14 to July 15. It is planned that Sochi will host four FIFA World Cup matches.

Tickets for matches are already being sold and hotel rooms are being booked, but no problems with accommodation are expected, reports Sergey Domorat, the chief for the resorts and recreational resources department of the Sochi administration.

"It is expected that in the period from June 14 to July 15, more than a million tourists will arrive in Sochi to watch the matches of the FIFA World Cup. 2000 hotels of Sochi are ready to receive guests," said Sergey Domorat.

On June 5, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent appealed to some hotels of the city and asked about any problems with accommodation, and everywhere he got an answer that the hotels had free rooms.

Meanwhile, staff and management of the hotels note the difficulties that foreigners coming to Sochi may face. The problems, as an example of Vladislav Trifonov, a citizen of Israel, has shown, may appear due to uncompleted migration documents.

Due to the lack of a migration card, Vladislav Trifonov was not accommodated at the hotel, in which he booked a room. The tourist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he planned to come to Sochi to watch the matches of the FIFA World Cup, but after the experienced stress he refused the trip.
