Eleven people killed in tourist catamaran accident near Volgograd
On the night of June 12, a walking catamaran and a barge collided on the Volga river in the Volgograd region. Five passengers of the catamaran managed to survive, ten people were killed. Three people were hospitalized, one person disappeared, the press service of the regional department of the Ministry for Emergencies reports.
In total, there were 28 people aboard the ships, the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov, said.
According to emergency services, people on the catamaran were without life jackets, TASS reports.
