At Krasnodar rally, organizers report 800 opponents to pension reform

On July 1, in Krasnodar, despite the intense heat, nearly 800 people took part in a rally against the increase in retirement age in Russia, organized by the Navalny's office. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Razmik Simonyan, a coordinator of the Krasnodar Navalny's office.

According to the pension reform bill, in Russia, it is proposed to raise the retirement age for men from 60 to 65 years, and for women – from 55 to 63 years.

"This topic excites all people without exception. Once again because of its economic miscalculations, the government again wants to get money out of ordinary people's pockets. And we need to unite. All political forces and movements should unite to prevent those draconian methods," stated Razmik Simonyan. According to him, there were many new faces among the protesters who had never been seen in the protest movement earlier.

Many participants do not belong to any political party or opposition movement, the organizers of the rally noted. Meanwhile, Krasnodar policemen reported about 150 participants of the rally.

Together with the Navalny's supporters, members of the Open Russia, the Libertarian Party and the Revolutionary Workers' Party also came to the rally. In their hands, people were holding posters reading: "The Russian government counts on the complete destruction of the country's population", "I do not want to die at work!", "Medvedev to resign", "Putin to retire!", "Putin, go retire! We are tired!"

On July 1, various forms of protest actions against the increase in retirement age took place in many Russian cities, including Stavropol and Volgograd.
