Izberbash residents rally because of absence of drinking water

In the city of Izberbash, Dagestan, townspeople have gathered for a rally at the building of city administration with a demand to resume the supply of drinking water. Calls were heard among the protesters to block the federal highway.

They really intend to block the federal highway if the water supply, which is absent for three weeks already, is not restored in the near future.

On Monday, July 2, Abdulmedjid Suleimanov, the Mayor of Izberbash, explained the problems with water supplies by an accident on the Kaspiysk-Izberbash water pipeline, the "Chernovik" reports, adding that about 400 people gathered for the rally.

The employee of the city administration, who came out to the protesters, said that at the moment Abdulmedjid Suleimanov is out of the city; he is at the reception at Vladimir Vasiliev, the head of Dagestan. The employee suggested that the protesters form an initiative group to meet the Mayor on Wednesday, July 4, the "Kavkaz.Realii" reports.
