Residents of Chechen villages complain about breaks in water supply during hot weather
In the Grozny District, the water supply to the villages is too irregular, and people have to buy water from private traders, but they also have to pay for municipal water supply, local residents complain.
The problems with water supply are observed in several villages of the Grozny District, including Pobedinskoye, Raduzhnoe, Dolinsky, Proletarskoye, and Sadovoe. Water is supplied with large breaks, mainly late at night, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Sultan, a resident of the Pobedinskoye village.
"We face problems with water supply since May. The problem started with frequent breaks in supply, and then there were more breaks. And now water is supplied somewhere between 2 and 3 a.m. and even then the pressure is very weak. We have to spend at least a half of the night to collect a little more water in buckets," said the man.
Gilani, a resident of the Proletarskoye village, has confirmed the above information to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Since late June, the hot weather covers the whole republic. We have got problems with the water supply, and for some reason nobody solves it. The district administration explains the problems by the hot weather and the increased consumption of water. They say there are similar problems in other places, etc. Meanwhile, all that does not make us feel better," Gilani said.
Despite interruptions in the water supply, people have to pay for water supply, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Idris, a resident of the Pobedinskoye village. "In fact, almost no one has got utility meters. All people pay under the norms, taking into account a number of family members. Although there has been no normal water supply for more than two months, we regularly get bills to pay for water supply," the man complained.
