Nagorno-Karabakh accuses Azerbaijan of 155 cases of shelling during a week
On July 1-7, the Azerbaijani armed forces fired about 1500 shots and thus violated the truce in the conflict zone, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports today.
The parties to the conflict announced a truce in April 2016, after the escalation of the Karabakh conflict. However, the truce did not stop the confrontation. For two years, shelling did not cease even for a day in the Karabakh conflict zone, as follows from the infographics "Nagorno-Karabakh after the truce: a two-year war" prepared by the "Caucasian Knot".
"The Azerbaijani side has produced over 1500 shots from small arms of various types on the Karabakh positions," reported the press service for the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD as quoted by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The Nagorno-Karabakh MoD reports that "the forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army continue to confidently carry out military service and take appropriate actions, if necessary."
According to the information as of 2:40 p.m. Moscow time on July 7, no comments are posted on the website of the Azerbaijani MoD regarding the statement of the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD. Meanwhile, during the week, Azerbaijan regularly reported on violations of the ceasefire in the conflict zone. In particular, today, Azerbaijan has reported about 83 cases of ceasefire violation by Armenia with the use of large-calibre machine guns.
