Two miners stay at resuscitation ward after explosion in Tkibuli

The condition of two out of six victims of an explosion at the Mindeli mine in Tkibuli is assessed by doctors as severe, while the condition of the rest is not a cause for concern.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on July 16, four miners were killed in an accident at the Mindeli mine in Tkibuli. Six other miners were hospitalized. The government of the country announced the decision to stop operation of the mine. According to the preliminary version voiced by investigators, an explosion of methane occurred at the mine.

Two victims of the explosion at the Mindeli mine were placed to a resuscitation ward in a severe condition, reported David Sergeenko, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

According to the Minister, one of the victims got burns of 50 percent of his body, and the second "got even more burns."

The condition of the other victims does not cause any concern, the IA "News-Georgia" reports with reference to David Sergeenko.
