Two villagers blow themselves up on a mine in Karabakh conflict zone

Elshad Mekhtiev, 24, and a 14-year-old boy were hospitalized after an explosion of a mine in an Azerbaijani village located near the troops contact line.

The incident occurred this morning in the village of Alibeyli of the Tovuz District, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the village administration.

According to doctors, the teenager had his leg amputated, while Mekhtiev has "relatively light injuries."

The village of Alibeyli is located 350 meters from the Azerbaijani border and, according to the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD), is regularly exposed to shelling. In particular, the MoD reported the shelling of this village on May 28, April 13 and March 26.
