Azerbaijan announces shelling of four villages in conflict zone
The Armenian armed forces 92 times violated the ceasefire using large-calibre machine guns, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 16, Azerbaijan counted 87 cases of shelling in the conflict zone during the day. Earlier, Nagorno-Karabakh claimed 200 cases of shelling from the Azerbaijani side in the period from August 5 to 11.
On August 16-17, the positions of the Azerbaijani army were shelled at the villages of Gushchu Airym, Ashagy Askipara in the Gazakh District, Kokhanebi in the Tovuz District, and Zamanly in the Gadabay District, the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its official website today.
As at 9:07 a.m. Moscow time of today, the websites of the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh posted no information regarding the Azerbaijani MoD's statement.
For two years, the shelling in the conflict zone has not stopped even for a day; it follows from the infographics "Nagorno-Karabakh after the truce: A two-year war" published by the "Caucasian Knot".
