Social network users link teens' attack on law enforcers in Chechnya with Temirkhanov's death

Users of social networks have criticized the authorities' statements about the attack on policemen in Chechnya. Some have suggested that the attack is beneficial to the authorities, who thus can raise their rating after the death of Yusup Temirkhanov, convicted for killing Yuri Budanov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 20, a series of attacks on law enforcers was committed in Chechnya. The responsibility for the attacks was claimed by the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court. According to law enforcers, four out of five militants were killed; the fifth one was wounded at an attempt to blow himself up.

Some users of social networks believe that the death of the attackers was caused by the authorities' unwillingness to catch them alive.

The law enforcers in Chechnya were attacked by five teenagers, the oldest of whom is 18, the rest – aged from 11 to 17 years. The age of the alleged militants is an evidence of the trend, marked by the "Caucasian Knot" as early as 2017: more and more young people are joining the armed underground in Chechnya.

At the same time, social network users did not believe that the father of Magomed Musaev, the alleged 18-year-old organizer of the attacks, had publicly damned his son on air on the TV at his own will.
