After attack in Chechnya, law enforcers detect IS cell in Norilsk

In the city of Norilsk, suspects in recruiting militants into the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court) were detained, the press service of the FSB Department Krasnoyarsk Territory has reported. The day before, on August 20, teenagers in Chechnya committed attacks on law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the IS claimed responsibility for the attacks in Chechnya. A video was posted, in which Chechen teenagers swear allegiance to the IS.

The oldest attacker in Chechnya was 18 years old, the rest – from 11 to 17. This has confirmed the conclusion of the "Caucasian Knot" about the rejuvenation of the armed underground.

According to law enforcers, the detainees in Norilsk inclined residents to travel to the warfare area to participate in the conflicts on militants' side. The organizers of the cell planned to join the terrorist organization in Syria or Afghanistan.

Let us note here that last year in Surgut, the largest city of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, neighbouring with the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an attack on passers-by was committed, the responsibility for which was claimed by the IS. The attacker was very young and used a knife, like two teenagers on August 20 in Chechnya.

Chechen teenagers heard the appeals of the IS and improved the tactics of single attacks, Orientalists have noted earlier.
