South-Ossetian KGB reports detained tourists from Georgia
Five tourists were detained during their trip near the delimitation line with South Ossetia, the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia stated on August 29. In its turn the State Security Committee (know as the KGB) of South Ossetia has stated that these detainees and one more detained person are suspected of violating the border.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 28, according to the Georgian SSS, Giorgi Kharazishvili, a resident of the Georgian village of Chvrinisi, was detained near the delimitation line with South Ossetia.
The border service of the South-Ossetian KGB has confirmed the detention of Kharazishvili. According to the KGB, a unit of border guards detained the Chvrinisi villager in the vicinity of the dwelling settlement of Balta, Znaur District of South Ossetia.
On the same day, August 28, in the vicinity of Lake Kel, located in the Dzaus District of South Ossetia, five more Georgian citizens were detained, the KGB spokesman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that materials on the border violations are being prepared for sending to the court.
The Georgian SSS has stated today the five Georgian citizens, detained on the delimitation line with South Ossetia, were on a march to the Truso Gorge. Georgian law enforcers have informed the European Union (EU) mission of the about incident, the "InterPressNews" reports.
