Evkurov heads Ingushetia for the third time
On September 9, by a majority of votes, local MPs of Ingushetia re-elected Yunus-Bek Evkurov to the post of the republic's head.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, Russian President brought in a list of candidates for the post of the regional leader to the parliament of Ingushetia. Apart from the incumbent Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the contenders were Ilyas Bogatyryov, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee for health and social policy, and Uruskhan Evloev, a deputy of the city council of Nazran.
As a result, 26 local MPs voted for Evkurov, two other candidates gained only two votes each, said Magomed Tiboev, the chairman of the counting commission of the regional parliament. "The number of valid ballots is 30; there were no invalid ballots," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Tiboev as saying.
