Interpol accepts Aslan Yandiev's complaint about his search

The Commission for the Control of Interpol's Files (the CCF) has accepted for consideration the complaint filed by Aslan Yandiev, a native of North Ossetia, extradited from Slovakia to Russia. The complainant believes the search for him after the UN demand to suspend his extradition was ungrounded, the association "VayFond" reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 2007, Aslan Yandiev, an Ingush native, born in North Ossetia, was on the international wanted list. In January 2011, he was detained in Slovakia on the charge of involvement in a series of terror acts committed in North Ossetia in 2005-2006. On July 17, Aslan Yandiev was extradited to Russia.

According to a member of the association "VayFond", which coordinates the defence of Aslan Yandiev, the CCF accepted for consideration the Aslan Yandiev's complaint about the illegality of his search after the UN Human Rights Committee had demanded from Slovakia to suspend his extradition to Russia, the "Kavkaz.Realii" reports today.

The activist has clarified that if the CCF recognizes the search for Aslan Yandiev after the extradition ban as illegal, then it may be possible to cancel the decision on his extradition, the edition reports.
