Ramzan Kadyrov's nephew obliges public employees to clean cemeteries
Public employees reported a large-scale subbotniks (Saturday voluntary work) in the territory of the cemeteries in the Kurchaloi District held on July 22. The subbotnik was the first such event organized after the appointment of Khamkhat Kadyrov the head of the district. Public employees reported that they were obliged to take part in the subbotnik.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, in Grozny, large-scale subbotniks were organized by Ibragim Zakriev, another nephew of the Chechen leader, appointed in late June the Mayor of the Chechen capital. Public employees complained that they worked on the street in the 40-degree heat.
Public employees took part in cleaning cemeteries in the district, said Ramzan, a resident of the Kurchaloi, a district centre.
"The day off on July 22 became a subbotnik for us: we were engaged in cleaning the territory of the local cemetery. We were mowing grass, collecting garbage, and cleaning the territory adjacent to the cemetery," Ramzan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The subbotnik works lasted for several hours, said a local resident Suleiman. "People were obliged to come," he added.
The administration of the municipality confirmed that the large-scale works were carried out on the instructions issued by Khamzat Kadyrov, the head of the district.
