Azerbaijan reports 27 cases of shelling in conflict zone

Cases of shelling of the Azerbaijani positions in the Karabakh conflict zone were registered from the direction of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijani reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17, Azerbaijan registered 28 attacks on its positions in the conflict zone.

Over twenty four hours from December 17 to December 18, the ceasefire regime on the contact line of the troops was violated 27 times, and the fire came from large-calibre machine guns, the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its website today. Positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces at nameless heights in the Gadabay District were shelled from the Armenian side; moreover, the fire also came from territories "near the occupied villages" in the Terter, Agdam, Fizuli, and Djebrail Districts, as well as from positions at nameless heights in the Geranboy, Terter, Agdam, and Khodjavend Districts, reported the Azerbaijani MoD.

As of 1:20 p.m. Moscow time today, the MoDs of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh did not comment on this statement in their websites.
