Azerbaijan reports shelling of four villages

During the last 24 hours, the ceasefire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone was violated for 28 times; the militaries' positions in the Gazakh and Tovuz Districts came under fire, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 23, Azerbaijan counted 22 shelling attacks on its positions. In its turn, Nagorno-Karabakh declared 200 shelling attacks in the conflict zone within the week of December 16-22.

During December 23-24, the ceasefire regime on the troops contact line was broken for 28 times; the shelling was carried out from large-calibre machine guns, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported. The MoD asserts that the positions of the Azerbaijani Army stationed in the villages of Mezem and Djafarli of the Gazakh District, Agdam and Mundjuglu of the Tovuz District, as well as on the nameless heights of the Gadabay District, were shelled from the territory of Armenia. Shelling was also carried out from the territories "near the occupied villages" in the Tartar and Agdam Districts and from the nameless heights in the Goranboy and Tartar Districts.
