In Azerbaijan, police detain 13 PFPA supporters in front of court building

More than 100 people came to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes to support members of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) accused of money laundering. The police dispersed supporters of the defendants and detained 13 people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the law enforcement bodies accused a number of members of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) of money laundering. On January 8, the defence stated that the defendants were tortured.

On January 15, more than 100 PFPA activists came to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes to attend the trial, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

However, only relatives of the defendants and several PFPA leaders, including its chair Ali Kerimli, got into the room for 30 people.

The other PFPA supporters remained on the street. The police demanded from the people to leave the place and began to disperse them. 13 people were detained.

"By evening, nine persons were released. On January 16, the remaining PFPA members will appear before the court," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Ilham Gusein, a member of the Supreme Majlis of the PFPA.
