Azerbaijan registers 30 shelling attacks in conflict zone

The positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Karabakh conflict zone were fired from machine guns, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 17, Azerbaijan announced that its positions in four villages came under machine-gun fire. In total, the Azerbaijani MoD registered 29 cases of ceasefire violation over a day.

"Units of the Armenian armed forces used large-calibre machine guns and 30 times violated the ceasefire regime in different directions of the front during the day," the Azerbaijani MoD reports today on its website.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the village of Kokhanebi in the Tovuz District came under fire.

At 9:45 a.m. Moscow time of today, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not posted on their websites any information regarding the statement voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.
