Killed rebels' parents willing to know their sons' bodies safe
Parents of rebels killed on 13 October 2005 have addressed Kabardino-Balkaria's Prosecutor Yuri Ketov with a statement in which they ask for an opportunity to make certain that their sons' bodies are safe.
Their request was prompted by the fact that officers of republican law enforcement agencies come up to some parents practically every day during pickets which the parents stage near the republican prosecutor's office and tell them not to gather as the rebels' bodies were burnt down long ago, the parents told Caucasian Knot's correspondent.
With the assistance of the international organisation Stichting Russian Justice Initiative, the parents applied to the European Court of Human Rights, as Caucasian Knot reported earlier. To the inquiry of the European Court concerning the condition of the bodies, the government of Russia replied that the bodies were kept in an appropriate condition.
It is in the light of these contradictions that the parents would like to learn the truth.
Ninety-two rebels were killed during the 13 October 2005 events in Kabardino-Balkaria. One was wounded. More than 50 were arrested and charged.
