Employee of gas company in Makhachkala arrested within Arashukovs' case
Kurakhma Magomedov, the head of a division at the "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala" Limited Liability Company (LLC), suspected of involvement in gas theft, has been arrested for 10 days.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that sources suggested that Magomedov had been detained under the case of Raul and Rauf Arashukov about the multi-billion-rouble theft of gas.
Raul Arashukov, an advisor to the Director General of the "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz", was arrested within the case of the embezzlement of natural gas worth for 30 billion roubles. Investigators believe that Rauf Arashukov, Raul's son, who is Senator (member of the Russia's Federation Council) from Karachay-Cherkessia, arrested on charges of murder, participation in a criminal community and pressure on a witness, was also involved in the gas theft.
Magomedov is suspected of committing a large-scale fraud, the court has informed. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Earlier, on February 15, sources reported the detention of that Daniyalbek Bagautdinov, a Deputy Director General of the "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala", suspected of a fraud under the same case with Director General, Vladimir Anastasov, who was arrested last December.
