Kadyrov demands liquidation of all camps for refugees in the Chechen Republic
The Chechen prime-minister Ramzan Kadyrov has demanded removal as soon as possible all places for refugees residing on the territory of the Chechen Republic. "Camps for refugees are a center for crimes, drugs and prostitution, and I will not allow this in the Chechen republic", - said Kadyrov at the official meeting in Gudermes that was devoted to the problem of living standards and other conditions in the camps for refugees.
Kadyrov said "The majority of refugee camp residents have housing they can return to. The problem is that these people have grown lazy during the years of civil conflicts and now they are unwilling to work. The women living there have forgotten what is housekeeping and now do not want to take up a broom."
According to Kadyrov, refugees stay in the camps because of the humanitarian help provided by different organizations. "People prefer to get this small amount of flour and spaghetti instead of earning their own living".
A source in the administration of the President and Government of the Chechen Republic has told CK correspondent that there are currently 46 camps for refugees on the territory of Chechnya, most of them in Grozny. The total number of refugees on the territory of republic is more then 60 thousand.
