Rally in support of Ingush activists in Paris was 30 people strong

On April 18, members of Ingush Diasporas in France and Belgium took part in a rally demanding the release their fellow countrymen detained in their homeland and to dismiss the head of Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, in Brussels and Helsinki, Ingush nationals held solidarity actions with their detained fellow countrymen, who had protested against the border agreement with Chechnya. On April 7, a similar action was held in Hamburg.

On April 18, in Paris, about 30 people came to a rally against arrests of Ingush activists, said Zurab Pliev, one of the organizers of the rally. According to his story, several Chechens living in Europe also came to the rally.

By persecuting oppositional activists, the Ingush authorities "made them heroes," and for this "we can only thank them," said Rosa Malsagova, a refugee living in France.

Zelimkhan Khadiev, a participant of the rally, said that he lives in France, which pursues a "more respectful policy" towards different Diasporas than Russian authorities.

Izabella Evloeva, a journalist, has noted that the Ingushes' protests attracted the attention of German, French and Swedish mass media.
