Armenian MoD reports condition of soldier wounded on border

Yerevan doctors have operated on Argishti Sepkhanyan, a soldier seriously wounded on the border with Azerbaijan; he is in the intensive care unit, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 30, 2019, the soldier was wounded in his head during a shelling attack in the Tavush Region of Armenia; his condition was grave.

Doctors have successfully conducted a "long and complicated surgery," said Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD. According to his story, there is no threat to Sepkhanyan's life, but the treatment will be long.

Argishti Sepkhanyan, born in 1987, is from the Lori Region, said Arkadi Tamazyan, the head of the Akhtala community.

It should be noted that earlier the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) counted 63 soldiers in the Armed Forces of Armenia and the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, who died in 2018; and only seven of them died as a result of the violation of the armistice by Azerbaijan.
