Two residents of Georgia detained on border with South Ossetia
Armed people detained two residents of the Kaspi District, the Georgian State Security Service reported. According to eyewitnesses, the detained men were taken away in the direction of Tskhinvali.
35-year-old Vasil Patarkatsishvili and 49-year-old Dmitry Izergishvili, residents of the Kvemo Chugali village, were detained on the outskirts of the Karapila village with the demarcation line with South Ossetia, reported Stefane Mesropashvili, the spokesperson of the Kaspi District administration.
Local residents believe that the detainees were taken to the police station in Tskhinvali, the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel reports on its website today.
The information about the detention of two Georgian citizens was confirmed by the State Security Service of Georgia, according to which, South-Ossetian law enforcers charged the detainees with illegal border crossing, the "Public TV of Georgia" reports on its website today.
