Chechen resident fined for posting Timur Mutsuraev's song

Since early 2019, the first resident of Chechnya has been fined for posting a song of bard Timur Mutsuraev on a social network. According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot", over the same period of 2018, at least five persons were brought to justice on similar charges in the Chechen Republic.

Timur Mutsuraev is known in Chechnya since the time of the first military campaign. He sang songs about the war in Russian, and later, religious motives and calls for jihad appeared in his songs. In 2010, over 20 songs of Timur Mutsuraev were recognized as extremist and included in the list of banned materials.

"A resident of the Shelkovsky District of Chechnya posted on his page on the Odnoklassniki social network a composition of Timur Mutsuraev, the text of which was recognized by the court as extremist," the court reported.
