Central Electoral Commission CEC of Georgia annuls voting outcomes in several districts
The voting totals at local self-government elections in the Abash electoral constituency (Western Georgia) will be annulled, and repeated voting will be appointed there. This news was announced by Guram Chalagashvili, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, as a press conference.
According to the "Novosti-Georgia," he marked that the minutes have essential difference between the real number of voters in the Abash District and the one fixed in the minutes.
Violations were also recorded in five precinct commissions of the Marneuli Electoral Constituency (Eastern Georgia). According to Chalagashvili, they were revealed by the observers who monitored the electoral process.
According to the Georgian CEC's Chairman, it has already been decided quite clearly that the voting totals in one of the electoral precincts of Kutaisi will be cancelled, as the final minutes of the commission have caused certain doubts.
Violations were committed by four precinct commissions in the Gldan Electoral Constituency of Tbilisi, where the count of ballot papers exceeds the number of voted electors. If the facts get confirmed, said Chalagashvili, the voting totals will be annulled there as well.
Violations in drawing up the minutes were recorded also in the Hob Electoral Constituency.
Chalagashvili stated that he warned all the chairpersons of the Constituency Commissions on their duty to make an attentive verification of the final minutes of precinct commissions prior to present them to the Central Electoral Commission of Georgia.
Note that under preliminary data of the CEC of Georgia, a total of 46.7% of all voters took part in the municipal elections held in the country on the eve, on October 5. The country opened a total of 3033 polling stations, the ITAR-TASS informs.
