The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is going to appeal to the European Court for Human Rights

In the context of mass detentions of Georgian citizens in the territory of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has made public a statement running that in parallel to economic sanctions towards Georgia, the Russian government is taking repressive measures in relation to Georgian citizens, including children, the "Gazeta.ru" reports.

"Under a direct order of the Russian government, they are breaking the human rights recognized by the world community and all the international conventions, where Russia is a signatory. The scope of these actions evidences that human rights are broken not by some particular agency, but by the state as a whole" the statement of the Foreign Affairs of Georgia runs.

The Ministry informs that he will deliver the data on the facts to the European Court for Human Rights.

It was reported earlier that Sozar Subari, Georgian ombudsman, was going to address international human rights organizations and his colleagues on the situation in Russia in relation to the natives of Georgia, and especially to children.

According to the Georgian ombudsman, the latest developments in Russia are a classic example of xenophobia and Nazism, and Georgia will not be able to confront it alone, without support of international entities, therefore he calls them up to be active.

We remind you that Gela Bezhuashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, accused Moscow of "ethnic cleansings" with reference to the campaign launched in Russia against the natives of Georgia. Speaking on October 6 to journalists in Tbilisi, Minister Bezhuashvili called Russian sanctions to be "counterproductive" and gave tough comments on prosecution of Georgians in Russia. "It's not just xenophobia. It is a mild form of ethic cleansings," he said.
