French parliament decision will not affect implementation of railway project, as considered in Azerbaijan
The decision of the French parliament on the genocide of Armenia will not affect the implementation of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway construction, noted Arif Askerov, chief of the State Railway Directorate of Azerbaijan.
For reference, upon the results of the meeting which took place in Baku on Friday, October 13, on the issue of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku project, representatives of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, signed a memorandum on the revision of the project by the parties and its submission for approval within the month.
The construction of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway is planned passing by the existing Kars-Gumri (Armenia)-Tbilisi-Baku railway which is now out of operation due to closure by Turkey of its border with Armenia.
